Your Leadership Style Matters explores the dangers of using spiritual authority like a cult-leader rather than like Christ. It calls for diligence to avoid the often imperceptible slide into the trap of 'lording it over' the people the Lord has put in our care. This book draws attention to some of the overlooked areas of spiritual authority and how to avoid the snares associated with exercising it. It argues that every Christian leader has a tendency to act cultic when he deviates from Christlike leadership practices to authoritarian behavior. It's a behavior that resembles those practiced by cult leaders, such as: directing rather than developing people, overemphasizing obedience, inability to handle dissent, and how we use out-of-balance doctrine. The book's subtitle is: 16 Warning Signs That Your Leadership Is Becoming Cultic. |
