June of 2004 found me in the office of then President, Bernard Evans, as I started my new position as Director of Youth Ministry for Elim Fellowship. After being challenged to get a vision for the Youth Ministry, I went to Elim Gospel Church, sat in the empty 1200 seat sanctuary, and began to pray and ask God for His heart and wisdom on what to do. As Jesus began to fill my heart with vision, one of the things I saw was a sanctuary filled with young people going after God! Young people from up and down the East Coast gathering together for ONE weekend, in ONE place, to seek the ONE true God! This past November I saw the fulfillment of that vision!  On November 12^th through 14^th, 2009, over 1000 teens, young adults, and leaders gathered at Elim Gospel Church for SATURATE 09.  Over 60 churches from 9 different States and Canada were represented!

We had tremendous times of passionate worship led by Derek Levendusky & Isaiah Six in the evening and Christopher Hopper in the mornings. Elim Bible Institute’s Kingdom Force did several skits that made us laugh as well as challenged our hearts. On Friday Night the altar and aisles were flooded with young people on their faces before God crying out to Him as they surrendered ALL to Jesus; laying down their desires for His plan. To be honest with you, I wasn’t sure what was going to happen as Adam McCain, our main speaker, opened his message with a live chicken on stage… but in true Adam McCain fashion, he was able to capture our minds and challenge our hearts as he brought God’s word home to us. He challenged us to Surrender All! Using the parallel between Cain’s offering and Abel’s offering, Adam asked us what type of offering our lives would be. Cain’s was a good offering, but Abel’s was an everything offering.

Elim Gospel Church filled with over 1000 young people and leaders for SATURATE 09 was a tremendous sight to see! We also had over 150 young people tour the campus of Elim Bible Institute. I’m grateful for the continual building of connection and relationship happening as a result of this conference. I appreciate all of the leaders of this Generation and for the churches that sent your young people to be a part of this conference.  We have a great connection happening and look forward to the days to come as He continues to network us together.
